In case you don't keep up in the forums, RM has announced he is stepping down as code maintainer of Dungeonforge and handing off the responsibility to Dalton Calford.
From his introduction post:
| Quote: |
| For those of you who do not know me, I am a programmer, gamer and part time game designer who has a need for a program like Dungeonforge so it is nice to be able to both help out and benefit at the same time from the hard work that RM has done. |
Dalton is currently running a thread titled My Vision for the Program where he has outlined his development plan, as well as asked for feature requests.
On behalf of the community, Dalton, I'd like to thank you, and welcome your new role!

1.9.2 Released - Nothing new, fixed some installer issues Monday, December 12, 2005 (15:09:23)
|
|
Hi All. I have posted a new version of the dungeonforge setup in the download section. There is nothing new in this version, it just contains some bugfixes in the INSTALLER ONLY. I had not added the requisite files to allow the images in the tiles directories to be recognised as tiles. I have also removed TE.EXE and OE.exe (the tileset and objectset editors - they are now redundant).
A tiny bugfix to the program, I stopped it from creating the empty OBJECTSET and TILESET directories in the base program directory every time the program is run.
If you have a working copy of DF 1.9.1, and you are happy with how it works, don't bothere downloading this. If you do want to replace a version of Dungeonforge with 1.9.2 please be sure to do a full uninstall of the previous version first. |

New Version of Dungeonforge Released Tuesday, December 06, 2005 (18:53:16)
|
|
Redmonkey has released the latest version of Dungeonforge. It contains many changes from previous versions. There is no longer any need for object or tilesets, and there is a converter to switch them back to usable images. The new version can also use JPG, TIFF, GIF and BMP formats, although PNG is still preferred. Walls and backgrounds can be textured. Download it and try it out!

Welcome back to the official Dungeonforge website Thursday, December 01, 2005 (20:01:22)

The Dungeonforge website has been down for redesign and maintenance for several months but is now back up with a Forum (including old posts), a Gallery (for user images) and a Download page.
Many features are only available to members, and previous members retain their usernames and passwords.
The site is very much a work in progress (or rather work barely started), but I wanted to get it back on line as soon as I could so that the old posts were available and to enable the community to reconvene. There is a lot of work to be done on content and functionality as well as the design of the site. I have not tested all the features, just enough to check that the most important features seem to work.
I have installed a Site Feedback Forum for people to make comments, requests and complaints about the site. At this stage, I am particularly keen to hear from people who have artwork they think would look good on the site, or are willing to write some articles on any aspect of Dungeonforge or dungeon mapping. Also very keen to know about features that don't work. It's possible that some features may work today but not tomorrow, while I am still refining the settings. |
